Sure, it didn't work out well, but it shouldn't be considered the worst "Sonic" game of all time, because there's still plenty of other games that could easily steal that title. Published in 1995 by SEGA Enterprises Ltd., SEGA of America, Inc., Tec Toy Indstria de Brinquedos S.A., Knuckles' Chaotix is still a popular platform title amongst retrogamers, with a whopping 4.2/5 rating. As much as some people trash this game a lot, they also fail to realize that Sega at least made an attempt to appeal to the multiplayer side of video games at the time. That being said, there's still a few complaints I have, mainly being the obvious tethering mechanic (which makes sense in multiplayer) and the Spindash being nerfed. Chaotix was much more focused on trying to fix this issue. Sonic 2 and 3's multiplayer in the main game usually wasn't fun for the second player as they couldn't keep up with player 1 and have to wait 10 seconds to respawn just to fall behind and respawn again. People sorta fail to realize that this game was more focused on multiplayer, but still provided a single player experience. It actually isn't that bad of a game as people say it is.
